Facebook and Instagram ads for jewellers

Jewellery is bought on a handful of fixed days and for weddings. Dhanteras, Akshaya Tritiya and Gudi Padwa bring families who buy something small every year for good luck, and wedding families plan their buying over months. Both decide which jeweller to visit before they leave home. An ad that shows your designs and your hallmarking a few weeks before these dates puts your shop on that list.

Who you’re trying to reach

Most buyers are families, and trust is what they check first: how long the shop has been there, hallmarked gold, clear making charges and a fair rate for old gold. Wedding families come with a list, the bride’s set, the mangalsutra, bangles, rings for both sides, and often visit more than once. Buyers in their twenties and thirties look for lightweight daily wear, diamond studs and gifting pieces that don’t need a big budget.

What to put in the ad

Making charge offers for festival days

Gold prices move every day, so leave the rate out of the ad. Make the offer on making charges for a fixed period around Dhanteras or Akshaya Tritiya, and give the dates.

Bridal collections

Real photos of your bridal sets on a model or a neck stand, with "bridal appointments available". These buyers want time with you and a quote, so collect their number and call.

Old gold exchange

Many families have old or broken jewellery lying at home. An ad that explains how you test and value old gold, and that it can go towards new designs, gives them a reason to come in.

Lead form or WhatsApp

We’d start with a lead form ad. Jewellery enquiries are high in value and usually end in a store visit, so you want to speak to the person. A lead form ad collects the name and number, and you call to find out the occasion and budget and book a time. For lightweight and gifting pieces, a WhatsApp ad where you send photos and prices also works.

How lead form ads work

Who should see it

Families travel for a jeweller they trust, so the whole city and nearby towns is a fair area for bridal and festival ads. For daily wear and gifting, 5 to 10 km is enough. Age 25 to 55 covers most buyers. Leave gender open for bridal and festival ads, because the couple or the family often decides together.

Busy times to plan for

  • Dhanteras and Diwali
  • Akshaya Tritiya, in April or May
  • Wedding season, roughly November to February, with buying starting months earlier
  • Gudi Padwa, Ugadi or Onam, depending on your region
  • Karva Chauth and Valentine’s Day, for gifts

Questions

Should I mention the gold rate?

No. It changes every day and the ad runs for the whole plan. Mention hallmarking and your making charges or the offer on them, and ask people to call or message for the day’s rate.

Is hallmarking worth putting in the ad?

Yes, if your gold jewellery carries the BIS hallmark and HUID number, say so clearly. Buyers look for it, and it answers a question they would otherwise ask at the counter.

How early should a Dhanteras ad start?

About two to three weeks before. Families decide where to buy before the day itself, and many book a piece in advance and collect it on Dhanteras.

What should a jewellery shop advertisement say?

Give one clear reason to visit: a making charge offer, a bridal set range with weights, or an old gold exchange rate. Avoid stacking five offers on one design, since buyers remember only the first.
