Facebook and Instagram ads for coaching classes

Coaching admissions happen in short windows: after board results, before the new session in April, and ahead of each new batch for competitive exams. Parents ask around, visit two or three institutes and decide within a few weeks. An ad that reaches them in that window, with batch dates and a free demo class, puts you on the list they visit.

Who you’re trying to reach

For school tuition, the person deciding is the parent, usually between 35 and 50, with the student having a say. For JEE, NEET, CA Foundation, bank and government exam coaching, students in their late teens and twenties often search for themselves. Both groups weigh the same things: past students’ marks, batch size, the teacher’s experience, the fee and how far the centre is from home.

What to put in the ad

Free demo class with a batch date

Name the class, the subjects and the start date, for example a Class 10 maths and science batch starting in April, and offer a free demo lecture. Parents like their child to attend once before paying a term’s fee.

Your real results, with permission

If your students did well in boards or entrance exams, show their names, photos and scores, only with the family’s written permission. Local parents recognise the school names and sometimes the faces.

Crash courses and summer batches

Short courses with a clear end date: a revision batch before board exams, a summer foundation course for Class 8 and 9, or a spoken English batch for college students. They are an easy first payment, and a family that liked the crash course may stay for the full year.

Lead form or WhatsApp

We’d start with a lead form ad. Parents want to talk before they enrol. A lead form ad collects the parent’s name and number, and you call back to explain the batches and fix a demo. Update each lead’s status in the Leads tab as you go and set follow-up reminders, since many families take a week or two to decide.

How lead form ads work

Who should see it

Set the area to how far students will travel every day, often 3 to 6 km in a city. For online classes, or exam coaching that students move cities for, use the state or all India. To reach parents, set the age to 32 to 50. For college and competitive exam students, use 18 to 26, and leave gender open unless the batch is for girls only.

Busy times to plan for

  • Board results in May, when parents choose coaching for the next class
  • April, when the new school session and most new batches start
  • Summer vacation, May and June, for crash and foundation courses
  • December and January, for board exam revision batches
  • The months before JEE, NEET and other entrance exams

Questions

Can the ad mention toppers and ranks?

Yes, if they are real and you have the student’s and the family’s permission. Give the exact marks or rank, the exam and the year. A line like "best results in the city" tells a parent nothing they can check.

Should I target students or parents?

Parents, for school classes up to Class 10. For Class 11 and 12 and entrance exams, run the ad for both, since students often find the institute and then bring their parents in.

How long before a batch should the ad run?

Three to four weeks. That covers the time parents take to visit, attend a demo and arrange the fee. Plan days count from the day the ad goes live, so pick a start that ends close to your batch date.

Where should I put a coaching classes advertisement?

Newspaper inserts and banners near schools still reach parents, but you can’t tell which one worked. A Facebook lead ad for a demo class gives you each parent’s name and number, so you know what the batch cost to fill.
