Facebook ads for car and bike dealers

Buying a car or a bike is a family decision, and many families want the keys on a particular day: Dhanteras, Navratri, Gudi Padwa, Onam. An ad that starts a few weeks before, with the model, the on-road price and a booking date, gives your sales team names to call while the family is still deciding.

Who you’re trying to reach

Bike buyers are often young men buying a first vehicle with a first salary, or a family buying a scooter for a daughter going to college. Car buyers are mostly families upgrading from a bike or replacing an old car, plus people buying a second car. Used vehicle buyers want a clean vehicle with papers in order. Most buyers have shortlisted two or three models before they walk in.

What to put in the ad

Book a test drive at home

Show the model with "test drive at your home" if you offer it. It saves the family a trip and gives your sales team the address and phone number of a real buyer.

Festival delivery booking

For Dhanteras, Navratri or your region’s new year, invite bookings now for delivery on the day. Families who want an auspicious date book early and are less likely to shop around after.

Exchange the old vehicle

Ask people to send the model and year of their old bike or car for an exchange price. Many buyers wait because they don’t know what the old one is worth.

Lead form or WhatsApp

We’d start with a lead form ad. A vehicle sale runs on calls and follow-ups. A lead form gives your team a name and number, and the Leads tab keeps track of who has been called and who needs a reminder. Buyers usually take a week or more to decide, so follow-up reminders matter.

How lead form ads work

Who should see it

Target 10 to 20 km around the showroom, or your whole city if you are the only dealer for the brand nearby. Ages 20 to 40 suit bikes and scooters, and 28 to 55 suit cars. Include all genders for scooters and family cars.

Busy times to plan for

  • Navratri, Dussehra, Dhanteras and Diwali
  • Gudi Padwa, Ugadi and Akshaya Tritiya
  • Onam in Kerala
  • December, when buyers look for year-end offers
  • Before the wedding season, for gift vehicles

Questions

Can I use the brand’s photos and logo?

Many vehicle makers have rules for how dealers use their logos and campaign images. Check with your brand first, or use photos of the vehicles in your own showroom.

Should I show the price?

An on-road starting price helps buyers who are comparing, and it keeps away people who were only curious. If prices change often, use a "starting from" price.

Does this work for used cars and bikes?

Yes. Show one vehicle per ad, with the year, the kilometres and the price. Used buyers respond to a specific vehicle more than to a general showroom ad.

How do car and bike dealers get leads?

Offer a test drive at home and ask for the buyer’s number through a lead form. Showrooms that ring back within the hour book far more drives than those that wait until the next morning.
